TAGS TEAM
TAGS Gymnastics is proud to offer several excellent competitive gymnastics experiences for athletes ages 5-18. Our team athletes have a healthy gymnastics/life balance and train year-round. Athletes in the TAGS Team programs compete both locally and across the country. TAGS athletes are instilled with great work habits, team-building skills, a love for the sport, and life-long friendships. Some athletes in our team programs continue to compete in college.
How do I become a TAGS Team Gymnast?
If your athlete is interested in a team position, please fill out a Team Interest Form available at the front desk. Team positions are by invitation only. Every gymnast at TAGS is considered a candidate for a potential team spot. Athletes are observed discreetly throughout their time at TAGS to best assess their readiness for the higher levels of competition. Strength, flexibility, and listening skills are some of (but not all) of the important characteristics we consider for team candidacy. Athletes must be enrolled in classes in order to be considered for team spots. We will contact you if your gymnast is the best candidate for an open team position.
What team levels are offered at TAGS?
Tiny Team (Ages ~5–6)
The TAGS Tiny Team serves as an introduction to the structure and expectations of competitive gymnastics. Athletes focus on foundational skills, teamwork, and building confidence while participating in 1–2 friendly in-house competitions throughout the year.
Training Team (Ages ~6–9)
The TAGS Training Team begins learning the basics of competitive routines through event-specific coaching and strength training. Training Team gymnasts participate in 1–3 in-house competitions annually to gain performance experience in a supportive environment.
Developmental Program (Ages 7–18)
At TAGS, we offer Levels 3–10 and follow the USA Gymnastics Development Program. Levels 3–4 focus on foundational skills and compete locally, while Levels 6–10 train at a more advanced level and compete both locally and at meets across the country.
Xcel Program (Typically Ultra-Advanced and Up)
The TAGS Xcel Program follows USA Gymnastics Xcel guidelines. TAGS offers Silver through Diamond levels, providing a competitive experience with fewer weekly training hours than the Developmental Program.
Boys Developmental Program (Apple Valley Only, Ages 6–18)
TAGS Boys DP is offered at our Apple Valley location and follows USA Gymnastics guidelines for boys’ artistic gymnastics. Athletes train across six events and compete locally and nationally.
