Welcome to TAGS Gymnastics!

We are so excited to welcome you to the TAGS family! We’re thrilled that you’ve chosen to join our gym, and we can’t wait to see your child grow and have fun in their gymnastics journey with us.

To help you get started, we’ve put together a few important details for you to know. Please take a moment to review the following information, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Attendance: Always notify us in advance via phone or email when you are unable to attend your regular class. You can also enter absences in the Parent Portal via our website or the TAGS mobile app (links to download below!)! This allows a makeup spot for another child.

Makeup Policy: We offer up to two makeups for missed classes each session during the school year (and unlimited makeups during Summer Session!). Makeups need to be scheduled in advance with the office and completed during the session the class was missed. Space for makeups is limited.

Proper Attire: We recommend a leotard (no attached skirts) OR shorts/sweats/leggings with a t-shirt/tank tucked in. Please note that two-piece outfits that expose the stomach are not allowed. All students go in with bare feet. No gum or jewelry (stud earrings are okay). We have a ProShop on-site where you can purchase TAGS leotards & shorts, TAGS t-shirts and other miscellaneous seasonal apparel!

Moving Levels: GymBabies, Toddlers, and Tots stay with their age group. Gymnasts ages 4 and up are evaluated mid-session to determine level placement for the next session. It is not uncommon for a child to stay at the same level for several sessions. They will continuously be developing strength, coordination and flexibility, and we will challenge with new progressions when a child is ready!

Safety First: Please do not attend class if your child or anyone in your family is sick. Students should immediately report any accident or injury to the instructor. If your child has any medical concerns, please be sure to include them in the parent portal and notify the instructor. Gymnasts are unable to participate with casts, braces, or wraps unless we have a doctor’s note saying it’s okay and there are no restrictions.

Arrival & Departure: Please drive slowly in the parking lot for everyone’s safety. Arrive no more than 5 minutes before class begins and exit promptly following class. Children must wait inside until picked up. Do not leave valuables in your car unattended.

Focus: Let’s help everyone focus by keeping distractions to a minimum! We have drinking fountains in the lobby and in the gym area, so please no water bottles or other beverages in the gyms.

Discounts!: If one child registers for more than 1x/wk, we offer 25% off the 2nd class! You can also add a 2nd class for the remainder of a session at any point and we will prorate the tuition and give 25% off that class. We also offer siblings discounts for children in the same immediate family – 10% off the 2nd child, 20% off the 3rd and the 4th child is FREE!

Additional Information for Parent/Child Classes:

  • We recommend the helper wears socks and removes shoes. No food, beverages or cell phones are allowed in the gym.
  • Helper must be an adult. Only one helper per child in the gym at a time. Families with multiples must bring an adult helper for each child.
  • Parent/helper should always be within arms reach of the child. The helper is there to keep the child controlled in the group and monitor any medical conditions that may be present. The instructor will show you where and when to assist.
  • If you have any medical concerns that may limit your participation, please inform the instructor. The instructor will monitor all students, give appropriate instructions for activities, and spot the gymnastics skills.
  • If the child is distracting other children in the class, we kindly ask that you remove them to the lobby for a few minutes to “regroup” and then return.
  • Supervision should be limited to the child you are bringing to class. The helper should not attempt to do the gymnastics skills introduced.
  • There are many different matting surfaces, floor heights, and equipment variables. Watch your step and follow the designated walkways for the safety of all.
  • If you have an infant that will be with you while assisting your GymBaby or Toddler, the infant must be secured in a baby carrier or car seat during the entire class. If the baby needs to be tended to, we ask that you remove both children from the gym and return when everyone is fed/changed/happy. :-) Older siblings are not allowed in the gym during class and must be supervised in the lobby area.
  • By entering the gym, you agree to follow these rules for the safety of yourself and the child you are assisting.

For future reference, you can login to the TAGS Parent Portal to view enrollment details, enroll in classes, etc. If you ever have questions, please give us a call or stop by the front desk and we’re happy to help!
